User Experience Researcher
“Everything technical is really about human beings.”
Background
I have completed a Master of Science at the University of Texas at Austin with a concentration in User Experience Research. I have conducted research using a mixed methods approach to communicate strategic insights about user needs to stakeholders in both mobile and web environments. My research has been honored by the User Experience Professional Association, where I was a 2018 Student Finalist for an opioid overdose prevention application. Prior to my graduate studies, I earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from Mount Holyoke College, where I cultivated my writing, editing, and publishing skills.
In my professional experience I have analyzed problems in the tech industry, healthcare, and education. In my current role, I am the first UX Researcher and Process Owner at CODE STUDIO INC.
I fell in love with UX Research because it is the perfect marriage of both my undergraduate and graduate degrees: research and storytelling.
I consider myself fortunate to have gained a skill set that can bridge the gap between people and technology. The focal point of my practice is a quote from my mentor, Laura Faulkner, PhD.: “Everything technical is really about human beings.”
I’m always looking for projects that inspire me to spread the good word about UX!
